From Farm to Compost

The 6-Stage Circular Lifecycle

Our end-to-end zero-waste process — from sugarcane field to your food service operation, and back to the earth.

🌾
01

Sugarcane Harvest

Farmers harvest mature sugarcane crops in Tamil Nadu. The extracted juice goes to sugar production, leaving fibrous bagasse residue that would otherwise be burned.

🚛
02

Bagasse Collection

Instead of burning, raw bagasse fibre is collected directly from local sugar mills and transported to our ISO-certified facility — preventing CO₂ emissions from crop burning.

💧
03

Eco Pulp Refining

Bagasse is thoroughly washed, mechanically pulped, and refined with water only. Zero bleach, chlorine, or toxic binders — completely food-safe from the start.

⚙️
04

Precision Heat Moulding

High-pressure hydraulic thermal presses mould the wet pulp into rigid tableware at controlled temperatures. Continuous automated drying ensures consistent density.

🍽️
05

Food Service Usage

Kumizh plates, bowls, and containers serve hot meals, soups, and takeaways across restaurants, hotels, airlines, and catering companies worldwide.

🌱
06

Returns to Soil

After use, the tableware is composted. Microorganisms digest the natural cellulose fibres, enriching garden and agricultural soil within 90–120 days. Truly circular.

Composting Methods

How Kumizh Tableware Decomposes

Whether in your backyard bin or an industrial composting facility, Kumizh tableware returns to the earth cleanly — no toxic residue, no microplastics.

🏡

Home Garden Composting

⏱ 90 to 120 Days

When discarded in backyard compost bins or garden soil, Kumizh tableware degrades naturally within 90 to 120 days depending on moisture and soil microbial activity.

No special chemical accelerators required — breaks down just like dry autumn leaves, enriching the soil with organic carbon.

✓ No Chemical Additives Required
🏭

Industrial Facility Composting

⏱ 60 to 90 Days

Under commercial municipal composting conditions (controlled 58°C heat and humidity), Kumizh products completely disintegrate in 60 to 90 days.

Fully compliant with EN 13432 European compostable standard and BPI commercial composting certifications.

Our Commitments

Our Environmental Pledges

Every Kumizh product is the result of deliberate decisions to protect our planet — from raw material sourcing to manufacturing and packaging.

🌾

100% Agricultural Waste

We use only post-extraction sugarcane bagasse — a by-product that replaces virgin resources and prevents field burning.

🚫

Zero Plastic in Manufacturing

No plastic polymers, no PFAS coatings, no toxic binders — our entire manufacturing line is free from synthetic plastics.

💧

Water Recycling System

Our closed-loop water treatment plant recirculates 85% of process water, drastically reducing freshwater consumption.

Renewable Energy Facility

Solar panels cover 40% of our facility's energy needs, with a target of 100% renewable energy by 2026.

📦

Compostable Outer Packaging

Cartons, wraps, and inner packaging are all kraft paper and bagasse-based — no plastic wrap, no polystyrene void fill.

🌍

Carbon-Neutral Export Goal

We partner with sea freight carriers committed to low-emission shipping routes to minimize our global export footprint.
